The crew of 33 miners are taking orders from their shift supervisor, but have been delegating responsibility to one another to draw on their individual strengths and keep the team happy and healthy. "Through multiple acts of leadership they have organized themselves to take care of their bodies, minds and spirits," Eblin writes. "The way they've done it is instructive and humbling for all of us leading in much less challenging situations."
